Perpetuities & Accumulations Bill 2009

This Bill abolishes the old rules regarding perpetuities and excessive accumulation in respect of new trusts created on or after the Bill gains Royal Assent and Will trusts where the death of the deceased is on or after Royal Assent. There will be one fixed perpetuity period of 125 years and no ban on accumulation throughout the whole of the perpetuity period. The old rules will still apply to old trusts. There are some limited exceptions to this principle.
